A retired member of the Libertyville community, Kyle MacGibbon most recently served as global marketing senior director of value expansion and scientific leadership with the diagnostics division of Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago. He formerly worked for Abbott Diagnostics as a multifaceted global marketing director. As senior director of global marketing for the organization’s Immunoassay Reagent Franchise, Kyle MacGibbon spearheaded product development and market tactics for a $2 billion business group. He joined Abbott Diagnostics in 1987 as a sales representative.

Before joining the Abbott team, Kyle MacGibbon graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point N.Y. where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering. Following Graduation he served, for 5 years, as an active duty Officer in the U.S. Army in the Air Defense Artillery branch. He decided to leave the Army, as a Captain, to pursue a career in business. As a Lieutenant in the Air Defense Artillery he served as both a platoon leader, where he oversaw training; operations and mission execution for an iHAWK Air Defense Missile platoon of 50 personnel, and as Company Executive officer for a iHAWK company of 150 people.. Furthermore, as a battalion operations officer, he was staff member of an Air Defense Battalion of 600 personnel. Finally as a Captain, he served as the TRADOC system's Manager responsible for all future improvements and development plans for the iHAWK missile system for the Army. Through both his military and his business endeavors, he has leveraged a honed balance of leadership; technical; analytical, and interpersonal skills to garner a proven track record of success.
